ECOMANU LODGE
It is an authentic ecotourism project run by local Amazonian families with strong conservation, reforestation and sustainable ecotourism programs.
The Lodge is located in the MANU BIOSPHERE RESERVE, a unique biodiverse site, on the right bank of the upper Madre de Dios River, in UTM coordinates, … very close to the Port of Atalaya, a highly recommended place for nature lovers, ornithologists, birdwatchers, photographers, students and families.
The lodge has 96 hectares of Amazon rainforest and 80% is primary forest and the rest is mature forest with beautiful cocoa trees, coffee, avocados, fruits and exotic Amazonian flowers that attract hundreds of birds, fascinating hummingbirds and dozens of species of butterflies. This is a place rich in different types of forests and an excellent trail system.
LODGE INFRASTRUCTURE AND SERVICES.
The comfortable EcoManu Lodge has 4 bungalows; each bungalow has two bedrooms with private bathrooms and a good solar energy system throughout the lodge. It is completely covered with mosquito nets preventing insects from entering. The comfortable rooms have double, single, twin, double or triple beds. The lodge offers a nice dining room with an open view, excellent food, hammocks, a platform with armchairs for reading and an excellent natural garden.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSION AREAS .
Due to our excellent location, the lodge offers a good system of marked trails, a tapir clay lick and a platform in the middle of the primary forest. Visit to the small wetlands for the observation of caimans and aquatic snakes. Nearby we offer a visit in our boats to the clay lick of parrots, macaws and hundreds of birds that are attracted by the mineral salts. In the same tour we visit the Machuwasi lagoon, an appropriate place to observe groups of monkeys and families of capybaras.
