HOW TO GET TO ECOMANU LODGE
From your hotel in Cusco, you should take a taxi for its efficiency to arrive at the local bus station (Prolongación Avenida La Cultura – Cusco, San Jerónimo. Local transport operate this route from CUSCO – PATRIA – PILCOPARA – PUERTO DE ATALAYA AND SALVACION. (Total distance 230 km. Total 5 hours).
We can help you to organize this transport from Cusco to ECOMANU Lodge.
At this terminal, you will find two types of local service.
- Minivan or minibus transportation service for 14 passengers. Departure time is 11:30 am. and the second departure is at 4:30 PM. This service uses hard seats, and in some cases, the speed can be excessive considering the winding road. Ticket price is S/ 35 or S/ 40.
- Shared taxi service. These small vehicles for 6 passengers depart from 5:00 am. and have continuous departures with a travel time of 5 hours. Ticket price: S/ 50 or S/ 60, depending on the number of passengers and distance. Due to its versatility and efficiency on narrow roads, this service is recommended (always reminding the driver to control the speed of the trip).
This route from Cusco to Manu crosses beautiful Andean villages like Huancarani and Paucartambo, and from the Acjanacu Pass, the road descends through diverse ecosystems, landscapes, and waterfalls, from grasslands and cloud forest to rainforest and lowland rain forest.
WHAT ECOMANU LODGE OFFERS
Hiking and exploring the different types of forest and visit our observation tower located 8 minutes away from the lodge, a spectacular spot for birdwatching, photography and enjoying the sunrise.
Tapir clay lick. It’s a roofed wooden platform, built in the middle of the forest, that serves as a hide for observing tapirs (the largest land mammal in the Amazon rainforest), deer, wild boars, and groups of monkeys. The site is located 25 minutes away from the lodge.
Eco Manu Lodge offers a botanical garden of medicinal plants, as well as our organic farm like cacao, bananas, avocados, yuca and other exotic fruits from the Amazon.
Eco Manu Lodge offers single, double, triple, matrimonial, and queen rooms, all with private bathrooms and a good lighting system powered by solar panels. It also features Wi-Fi, a spacious dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The lodge offers a platform with hammocks and a large garden in the middle of the lodge with exotic flowers and ornamental plants that attract many hummingbirds and various bird species.
