ECO MANU LODGE

The EcoManu lodge is located in the Amazon rainforest, bordered by the Manu National Park, one of the protected biological areas of South America. The lodge has been built following environmentally responsible parameters with local materials. The lodge offers single, double, twin and triple rooms with private bathrooms and showers. The lodge has a large dining room, good food, hammocks, trails to the different types of forest, ideal places for bird watching, monkeys, wild pigs, caimans, etc. and our exclusive hot springs in the middle of the jungle for all our guests.

DAY 01: Cusco – EcoManu Lodge

Early in the morning we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, to start our trip through Andean mountains, beautiful landscapes, rural folkloric communities like Paucartambo and Ninamarca (chullpas or funerary tombs) that belong to the pre-Inca LUPACAS culture. Then we climb the last mountain to reach Acjanaco, entrance to the MANU NATIONAL PARK, from where we descend to the lush cloud forest that houses a variety of flora and fauna. Being an ideal place for epiphytes, orchids, bromeliads, etc.. It is there where we will explore the cloud forest and can appreciate the National bird of Peru, the colorful Cock of the Rock in its ritual mating dance, as well as toucans, trogons, quetzals, monkeys and hopefully the South American spectacled bear (Tremantus ornatos). Continuing our excursion of the day, we head to the Patria Valley, Pilcopata small towns in the Amazon and then to the awaited tourist port of Aatalaya, where our motorized boat will be waiting to drive us down the Madre de Dios River towards the EcoManu lodge. We will have dinner and free time to enjoy some cold drinks. Then we will spend the night in our comfortable rooms.

Swimming and fishing in the rivers and using the hammocks in the lodges is free and safe for all guests.

DAY 02:

DAY 02: ECOMANU LODGE

Early in the morning we wake up to the sound of birdsong and begin a 4 hour excursion into the primary forest. Observing a great variety of birds, monkeys, wild pigs and suddenly embark on our motor boat to begin our journey in the upper Madre de Dios River.

Then we visit the important lake Machuwasi where a great variety of lagoon birds such as herons, sparrow hawks, ducks, hoatzins, oropendolas, capybaras and hopefully we will see the anaconda or boa.

Again we will board our boat to continue our journey in the afternoon we will enjoy the tropical waters (swimming and fishing). Overnight at the lodge.

Night walks or activities are possible every night, which will be at the disposal of the organization of our guides (visit of the tapir clay lick).

DAY 03:

DAY 03: ECOMANU LODGE – CUSCO.

Early in the morning we return from the lodge to Atalaya and then continue by bus back to San Pedro to appreciate once again the famous Cock of the Rock, continuing our return to the ancient capital of the Incas Cusco, arriving at 18:00 p.m. approx.
