DAY 01: CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST (GALLITO DE LAS ROCAS LODGE).
Early in the morning we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. Our excursion starts with a visit to the Huacarpay Lake, a very important wetland of Cusco city, there we can find the two endemic birds, Pink-fronted and Mountain Bearded Canastero and dozens of lake birds.
After a hot breakfast on site, the trip continues through Andean mountains, beautiful landscapes, rural folkloric communities like Paucartambo and Ninamarca (chullpas or funerary tombs). We then climb the last mountain to reach Acjanaco, entrance to the MANU NATIONAL PARK, from where we descend into the lush cloud forest, which is home to a great variety of birds Andean woodpeckers, crested cotingas, mountain toucans, Andean Ayaymama, mixed mountain tanagers, crested quetzals, golden-headed quetzals and much more. The cloud forest is the ideal place for epiphytes, orchids, bromeliads that attract many hummingbirds and this day with luck we can observe the mythical South American spectacled bear (Tremarctus ornatus).
DAY 02: GALLITO DE LAS ROCAS LODGE.
Very early in the morning we start exploring the cloud forest and find at first light Long-tailed Nightjar, Yungas Manakin, Multicolored Barbet, Golden-eared Tanager, Lemon-green Mountain Tanager, Scarlet Tanager, Blue-throated Mountain Tanager, Yellow-throated Mountain Tanager, Gray-green Woodpecker, White-throated Tanager, Becards, mountain cockatoo, brown-breasted cockatoo, cinnamon-faced tyrant, cinnamon-colored flycatcher, blackish-spotted chihuaco, paragua bird, tyrant nuthatch, masked trogon, tapaculo, white-crowned, Andean guan, mountain parakeet, red-jawed woodpecker, grayish antbird, golden-crowned flycatcher, white-winged tanager and many other species.

DAY 03: COCK OF THE ROCK LODGE – PILCOPATA PARADISE INN.
At first light we head to the platform of the cock of the rock, a site hidden among the vegetation, there very close we will observe the arrival of the impressive males, these beautiful red birds begin their activity with songs and flapping their wings to attract the invisible brown females. After this natural show of song and color we return to the lodge to enjoy a healthy breakfast, there in the garden very close to the lodge are the elegant and bright hummingbirds and many multicolored species of tanagers and whelks that approach the feeders.
Continuing our day’s excursion, on the way we will observe dozens of birds entering the Kcosñipata valley. Trogons, flycatchers, hawks, king vultures, etc. After dinner we will take short night walks in search of owls.
DAY 04: PILCOPATA PARADISE INN – ECOMANU LODGE
Very early in the morning we head to the sanctuary of Pica Flores, a spectacular place to observe and photograph the 23 species of hummingbirds, the Crested Coquette, Racquet-tailed, Inca collared, Hermit, White-necked Jacobina, dozens of fruit birds that are attracted to the feeders as multicolored barber, tanagers, toucans, turkeys and in the hiding places and platforms we will observe partridges, different species of monjitas, yacamares, antbirds and the royal vulture condor of the jungle.
After lunch and mid-afternoon we head to the most important lake of the place Machu wasy where a great variety of lake birds like herons, sparrow hawks, ducks, hoatzins, crested oropendolas, caciques, camungos, sunbirds, lake cocks and hopefully the royal flycatcher are concentrated.
Afterwards, we head to the tourist port of Atalaya, where our motorized vote awaits us to cross the Madre de Dios River in the direction of the Eco Manu Lodge. Overnight in our comfortable rooms, dinner time and free time to enjoy some cold drinks.

DAY 05: ECOMANU
Early in the morning and after breakfast we will go into the different types of forest of the Amazonian lowland rainforest in search of nuthatches, cockatoos, canasteros, antbirds and various species, tyrants, flycatchers, sparrows and woodpeckers.
In mid-afternoon we head to our exclusive observation tower, a nice platform in the middle of the forest and giant trees and from there we will observe and photograph families of scarlet macaws, military, blue-headed macaws, toucans, cotingas, trogons, flycatchers, beautiful tanagers, jumpers, etc.

DAY 06: ECOMANU LODGE – CUSCO
Very early in the morning we board our boat to go to the small colpa (clay wall containing mineral salts) very important of the place, where many noisy parakeets, parrots and small green macaws ingest the clay as part of their diet. Here we will observe hundreds of parakeets, yellow-crowned parakeets, blue-crowned parrots, blue-headed parakeets, red-bellied macaws, blue and yellow macaws and as we navigate along the banks of the Madre de Dios River we will observe grey herons, little blue herons, spoonbills, kingfishers and on the trees some putus and nightjars, etc.
Return to EcoManu lodge for lunch.
And then we will take our luggage to return to the city of Cusco, on the way we will make some interesting stops to enjoy again the colorful cock of the rocks and continue our return to the ancient capital of the Incas; CUSCO and arrival at 18:00 p.m. approx.
