CHOQUEQUIRAO
Another citadel of the same importance as Machu Picchu and at the same time another alternative to the classic Inca trail is the road to CHOQUEQUIRAO, which can be done in a 4-day trekking tour. This Inca citadel shows an impressive work and its Quechua name means GOLDEN CRADLE. CHOQUEQUIRAO, located at 3033 meters above sea level. In the Inca region of Cusco, District of Vilcabamba, on the right side of the Apurimac River; this construction is attributed to the ninth Inca of the Empire, where you can see two-level constructions, entrance gates joined between them, irrigation canals, this complex is estimated to more than 450 hectares.
CUSCO – CURAHUASI – CAPULIYOQ – SANTA ROSA.
Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel around 4:30 a.m. then we will start our trip for 3 hours approximately, until the village of Curahuasi, here we will have breakfast, then we will continue to Capuliyoq, it is the place where we will start the trek to Chiquiska, here we will have a delicious lunch to continue the trek for 3 hours more until the first camp: Santa Rosa, when we arrive here we will see the sunset in the valley of Apurimac, at night we have dinner and rest for the next day to continue the trek.
SANTA ROSA – MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO.
We will get up very early in the morning for breakfast around 5:00 a.m., and continue our hike to Marampata, here we spend the second camp, so we leave our things and take the necessary because we will visit Choquequirao here we will have a delicious lunch, and continue touring the temple of Choquequirao and its different enclosures and squares, we leave at approximately 4:00 p.m. and return to Marampata for about 2 hours, Here we have dinner and rest for the next day return to Capuliyoq.
CHOQUEQUIRAO – CHIQUISCA – CAPULIYOQ
This day we wake up at 6:00 am to have a good breakfast and begin our hike to Chiquiska, where we will have a delicious lunch, always enjoying the scenery that accompanies us, then walk to Capuliyoq, here we will have time to share this beautiful experience. Dinner and rest.
CAPULIYOQ – CACHORA – CUSCO
Day of return to the Imperial city of Cusco, the bus will be waiting for us in the town of Cachora, and then return to the capital of the Incas.
