HALF DAY CUSCO CITY TOUR
It is a half day tour of the main tourist attractions near the city of Cusco, such as Qorikancha, the Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. The tour starts at 13:00 p.m. and ends at 18:00 approx.
- QORICANCHA, one of the most important sanctuaries of Cusco in Inca times. Today we can appreciate a Dominican Colonial Church, built over the Inca construction.
- THE CATHEDRAL, located in the main square of Cusco. Inside we can appreciate more than 300 paintings, many of which belong to the Cusco School.
- SACSAYHUAMAN, this is a megalithic complex, built in a strategic place outside the city of Cusco. Today its immense rocks are still a mystery.
- Q’ENQO, this was another sanctuary at the time of the Incas. It shows a stone altar that was used in religious cults.
- PUKA PUKARA, another small Inca construction. Possibly used as a lookout point between the road to Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
- TAMBOMACHAY, also called “BAÑOS DEL INCA” (The Inca’s Baths), is possibly a construction dedicated to water.
