INCA TRAIL
The Inca Trail is considered one of the best hikes in South America. It is a 43 kilometer route along ancient Inca trails to Machu Picchu. Visitors are amazed to appreciate its great scenic beauty while visiting important archaeological sites and of course our world wonder, Machu Picchu.
At the time of the Incas there were two kinds of road, one is the royal road called (Qapaqñan) in the Quechua term, and the other; common road (runaq purinan) in Quechua; these roads were known as seqe which meant roads the high king (Inca) only made use of the royal road that connected to each of the cities, but in each way there were small villages where the Inca could take his rest, this tour that we started from km.82 is a religious road that connects to the city of Machu Picchu; also the famous “chaski” traveled kilometers away carrying the “quipu” (ropes with knots) so that the representative of each ayllu could communicate with the Inca and find out about the social problems that existed.
