LARES - MACHU PICCHU
This route leads to fascinating traditional Andean villages with their own customs and lifestyles, crossing mountains and a perpetual snow-capped peak that reaches 6000 meters above sea level. Allowing to reach the fantastic hot springs with healing properties, then continue to the town of Aguas Calientes and finally visit the magnificent Inca city of Machupicchu.
CUSCO – LARES – HUANCAWASI
Early in the morning pick up from your hotel in Cusco to travel through the Sacred Valley and arrive to the town of Lares where we will enjoy the fascinating hot springs; then 3 hours walk to Huancawasi, visiting interesting local villages, where the guide will explain all about the customs and lifestyles of the people. Overnight.
HUANCAWASY – MANTANAY
In Huancawasi we will appreciate very old techniques of cultivation, also textile works such as chullos, ponchos and a number of manual crafts, and then begin our journey ascending to the highest point of the mountain or abra del puma, to later descend for about two hours; on the way we will observe deep blue lagoons and many birds that beautify the landscape. Overnight in camping tents.
MANTANAY – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES
After a good breakfast we continue our journey to the Ollantaytambo valley, which is located on the banks of the Urubamba River and supported by the gigantic rock mountains of the ancient Inca village, which is considered one of the most important living museums in the world, this is the perfect place to appreciate the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo. We then board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Overnight in a comfortable hostel.
AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Very early in the morning walk or by tourist bus we arrive at the Inca citadel and wonder of the world MACHU PICCHU, guided tour 2 hours approx. and enough time to explore the place and opportunity to visit the mountain of Huayna Picchu, Temple of the Moon. Then we return to the town of Aguas Calientes to continue the return to the imperial city of Cusco. Arrival at approximately 22:00 p.m.
