SALKANTAY TREK - MACHUPICCHU
The Salkantay Trek is an alternative route to the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. It consists of a 5 or 4 day hike to the Inca Citadel through the town of Aguas Calientes, located at the foot of the Wonder of the World. On the route we cross impressive landscapes and places such as the Humantay Lagoon, a beautiful lagoon of turquoise waters and the snow-capped Salkantay, whose summit is at 6,721 meters above sea level and whose slopes the tourist crosses at 4,572 meters above sea level. We also visit the beautiful Mollepata Valley, the ruins of Llactapata and we pass through tropical territories abundant in flora and fauna. The last stretch is parallel to the Vilcanota River until arriving in Aguas Calientes, from where we walk or take a bus to the wonder of Machupicchu. It is worth mentioning that this route has been rated as one of the 25 best trekking routes in the world by National Geographic magazine.
CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMAPA
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. in our private transport, this trip will take approximately 2.5 hours to the town of Mollepata, where we will have the first breakfast; then we continue by car for another hour to Soraypampa (3800 meters above sea level). Then begins the walk of 1.5 hours approx. to the slopes of the Humantay mountain, where we will find the Humantay lagoon of beautiful turquoise crystal clear waters, after appreciating the beauty of this magical place we will have time to take pictures and videos, then return to camp.
SORAYPAMPA – ABRA SALKANTAY – CHAULLAY
We wake up early, to have a delicious breakfast, ready to walk uphill appreciating the beautiful Andean landscapes that surround the Salkantay pass (4632masl), we will have oxygen and a first aid kit for any emergency eventuality that may arise on the route. After contemplating such beauty, we will descend the mountain, then we will have a delicious lunch (we will choose the place according to the pace of our movement), and then continue and arrive to our camp, this is a tropical area, where we already have the presence of mosquitoes, as well as the diversity of flora and fauna of the area, we recommend taking the necessary precautions (repellents or others).
THE BEACH – AGUAS CALIENTES
We wake up at 6:45 am, to have breakfast and continue our hike to Lluscamayu; Place chosen for lunch, on the way we will visit Inca bridges, and we can observe the exotic flora and fauna of the area, after two hours we will arrive at La Playa, where we will take a bus to hydroelectric, then walk for 3 hours more to reach Aguas Calientes, here we go to our hostels and we will have the respective dinner, and the guide will give the indications of the next day.
ASCENT TO MACHUPICCHU
Early in the morning we go up to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, place where we will have a guided tour for approx. two and a half hours, we will have time to appreciate such a majestic and impressive wonder and take pictures. In the afternoon we will return to Aguas Calientes, where everyone will have lunch on their own. In the afternoon we will board the train to Ollantaytambo and then transport by car to the city of Cusco.
